"FEAR EBOLA"

                                                                                                                       At Newark Airport trying to get a ticket to Atlanta a few days back.




ME: I like your accent where are you from? (talking to a middle aged United Airlines lady sales agent)

LADY: Jamaica. You have an accent too where are you from?

ME: Nigeria.

LADY: Isn't that in WEST AFRICA?

ME: YES Nigeria is in WEST AFRICA

(Suddenly everyone freezes, Lady and other agents look very alarmed, even the customer behind me on the queue steps back hurriedly)

LADY: Sir, are you just flying in from West Africa (now sounding very official)

ME: (deep SILENCE plus a mischievous grin)

LADY: Sir, when was the last time you were in West Africa?

ME: (more silence, then watching the alarm on her face slowly turn to terror, I finally say) AUGUST of 2013

(Then I watch everybody exhale almost at the same time and the chatter became about EBOLA. O boy the fear of EBOLA is real o)
