Catholic Priest Suspended In Ibadan For Engaging In Illegal Business


His suspension was as a result of his refusal to apologise for his actions as expected by the church

A Catholic priest in Oyo State, has been suspended by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province for allegedly engaging in illegal business.
The move to suspend Raphael Fagbohun was announced by the body’s secretary and  Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Felix Ajakaiye in Ado-Ekiti.
Most Rev. Ajakaiye said that father Fagbohun’s suspension was as a result of his refusal to be repentant from his actions as expected by the church after committing the offence.
He said: “According to the law of the church, any priest who is involved in commercial activities without due authorisation is liable to punishment according to the canon law.”
